Open RP Post

so this is how it works...
1. Choose the character, put it in the subject line.

2. Type up your scenario or shoot a prompt. If you are out of ideas...
→ A scene from the Random Scenario Meme
→ A Picture Prompt
→ Other-Wordly Prompt
Go with action, angst, romance, gen, whatever - take your pick. (I can do smut or other NSFW threads too but please ask first.)

3. Get ready, set, GO!

[Aramis is invested in every animal that comes his way. He's the one who puts up a flyer on the precinct bulletin board about adopting the litter of kittens he found while doing his rounds, he's the one who actually brings in pet birthday presents when his friends' animals get older, he's the one who unironically watches Too Cute on the Discovery Channel and coos over all the purebred babies. Athos' dogs are like the best part about coming over, forget the pool and the hot tub and the gigantic wine cellar.

Athos' kitchen is also huge, so Aramis finds himself an unused portion of counter and hitches his ass up on it, crossing his ankles and leaning on his palms.]

Did you invite the rookie? I bet he'd do it if you fold him to.

[The combination of the two of them in his house already has Athos's spirits lifting and not just for how they'll spoil his dogs rotten. He snaps his fingers again and said pups go back to adoring his guests without pause. It's nice to see them so energetic and excited instead of echoing his silence right back at him.]

No, there's a table you're welcome to sit at. [He gives Aramis a raised eyebrow in a silent it's better than the counter, but he doesn't truly mind the other man's insistence to sit on anything except a chair. There's a reason why Athos keeps a corner of his desk free of any clutter.

He returns to the stove to double-check the main entree before turning off the burner entirely and carrying that skillet as well to the countertop to set beside the others.
] Several, actually. Where would you prefer: the dining room or the deck?

[At this point, the maine coon who also lives in the house pokes her head around the corner to watch all the excitement with a curious gaze.]

[Porthos leans over once his new puppy friend rushes over to him again, cooing very briefly at him as he scratches around his neck and down his chest. The dog seems overly pleased with it, and when he begins to pull away he is pawing at his hand already, demanding for more pets.

So he keeps doing so, lifting his head up when Athos speaks so that he can answer the question.]

You offer too many options to a very simple man. [He too raises an eyebrow at Aramis but says nothing to the fact that his partner is much less like a dog, and more similar to a cat at the moment. With a last pat to the pup, he stands upright and walks over to the counter so he can check on whatever food Athos prepared for them.] Deck sounds nice. It's not that cold outside anyway.
philogyny: (with; damn p she's so hot)

[Aramis won't take offense to that comparison. He likes cats. He likes all animals, really, but cats are definitely up there. Even cats that don't quite like him back, like Athos' Maine Coon, Camille. He clucks his tongue and coos at her when he notices her poking her head around the corner, leaning down and offering his fingers for her to come sniff, but doesn't seem all that put-out when she turns her back disdainfully and pads away. He'll win her over eventually.]

I vote deck too. [He kicks his feet idly, banging his heels on the cupboard beneath him, the obnoxious habit made slightly less obnoxious by virtue of the fact that he toed out of his shoes upon arrival. Some habits are hard to break. He's still not getting off the counter, though, no matter what Athos says.] You have a way nicer view than I do, might as well have someone appreciate it.

[Of course, Athos doesn't notice Camille until Aramis clucks his tongue at her and he raises an eyebrow at the man perched on his counter before holding out one of the hotpads with a pan to Porthos. The deck it is then. Of course, it will take a couple trips to get all of the food, utensils, dishes, and wine out there, but it's a sacrifice Athos is more than happy to make. After all, he's quite sure the dogs will accompany them every step of the way.]

Camille appreciates it. [He sasses back, not minding the insult at all or the kicking to his cabinets. They're a hardy oak, they could likely last longer than Aramis's heels.] Aramis, if you would.

[Athos cants his head toward the dishes stacked neatly beside Aramis on the counter as he lifts another skillet in his hands, hotpad separating his hand from the cast-iron. He doesn't even wait for the response before he sets off for the back deck through the kitchen and one end of the elaborately constructed living room. After walking through it so many times, the only thing he ever looks at are the two leather easy chairs sitting near the large windows. One of these days, he'll move the unused second one, but not today. Instead, he passes the living room, through the back door to the deck that overlooks his expansive property. The lawn runs on seemingly forever, before ending with the woods further down the hills near the city.

Of course, the dogs are hot on his heels and as soon as their paws touch the grass, they go scampering off into the wide yard, avoiding the curve of the pool with their usual practiced grace.

[The pan is handed to him and he takes it in his hands carefully, making sure that none of the pups are around to hinder his footing as he takes a step back to give Athos the room for him to move and lead the way out to the deck. Porthos is only partially sure he still remembers the way, since during the parties hosted there he tended to get a little too drunk to remember much of anything.

As Athos makes his way across the kitchen, Porthos shoots Aramis a look, eyebrow arched in part amusement, part silent agreement with Athos's own request that he get down from the counter and bring the dishes with him.

Then he follows after and out to the deck, letting out a pleased whistle once he does. He already knows the house is huge and expensive-looking, still each new division he finds out comes as yet another pleasant surprise to him. Seriously, there's a fireplace outside. How did Athos ever get so rich.]
Damnit, I love this place.
