[oh she's walking. that was fast. turning around and skipping over until he catches up to her.]

Now, when I say 'where' I do mean anywhere, even other planets. Have I not taken you to places far off, out there... [rounding her shoulders with one arm, and gesturing at the sky with his other hand.] I mean, literally anywhere. All the lady must do is ask.

[assuming she knows other planets' names of course.]

[looks up. with a small frown. not entirely untrue, but..]

I mean they're all out there right now. Where's the closest one to us now? You know, developed civilization trying to figure out stuff just like we are. Did anyone ever look up and see our sun and wonder the same thing we wonder about them? [all the childhood questions]

[crossmyhearts]

Of course not, that's silly. No other civilization is quite as close to our sun, all they can see is a tiny little star in the sky. Though I suppose they do have a sun of their own so they probably have at some point looked up and wondered the same things. [sudden realization] Mars! Mars has civilization. Or had, tragic story, I'll tell you about it some day. It's a dying planet, basically. So, a planet with another species! Yes, alright. We'll see what I can do.

[recurred]

Mars? [seriously?]

Can we go on Mars?

[do they have air]

[crossmyhearts]

No. Well, we could go back in time, but it's not a very pleasant place.

But we can fly past Mars, I could station the TARDIS just above it. You'll like it a whole lot better like that.

[recurred]

[thinks on it]

Okay, Mars, and then where? [spots the TARDIS down the road and breaks away from him to skip ahead]

Come on, we're not the only planet that's bustling, are we? Let's find the next big alien metropolis. Hopefully the kind that doesn't sacrifice little girls to mummies.

[crossmyhearts]

That narrows it down, in the very least. [muttered]

Alright then, we could just... improvise. I like improvising. Random pick, you just close your eyes and press a button. Or pull a lever. Except I can't let you do that, honestly, not on my ship. Oh, I know! You close your eyes and I pull a lever. Yes! Fun, exciting plans!

[recurred]

[narrows eyes]

I don't think that's quite the same. [but she's not complaining. they'll still end up somewhere]

[crossmyhearts]

Of course it's not the same. I thought you just said you wanted something different. We'll still be picking from a smaller list of places, places with people and civilizations and all those things you want to see, no worries! Right then--

[opening the door now, and holding it open with a gesture inside.] Ladies first.

[recurred]

[slides in, chin up as she reaches for the rails to glide her hands along them]

One has to wonder...[as she stops and turns to watch him] What haven't you seen? You must've seen almost everything by now.

[crossmyhearts]

[walks in after her and closes the door behind him, skipping past her with a little twirl and a pause in front of her]

Lots of things I haven't seen, I'm sure. Big universe out there, and I'm only 900 years old. But I can't know what I haven't seen before until I actually saw it, which is why the key is to just go on traveling.

[recurred]

Fair point.

[small smile before she bounds ahead to look at the TARDIS interface, waiting for him to do the thing. then the thought hits her, nose scrunches as she turns around to look at him again]

Only 900?

[crossmyhearts]

[he's
so deeply insulted right now, there are no words.]

Are you saying I look old?!

[recurred]

No! No.

[now she feels bad]

I just meant the way you said it makes it sound...young.

[crossmyhearts]

That's because I am! Well, maybe not if you compare me to humans, but as a Time Lord I am young... ish. If you compare me to the average lifespan of a star, for instance, then I am really young. And if you consider the whole universe and how it came to be then I am really reeeeeally young.

[pats bowtie.] That doesn't change the fact that I look great for my age.

[recurred]

[sassy arm fold]

You sure dress your age.

[crossmyhearts]

[looks down at himself.

he gon take yo grandpa style]

What are you talking about? This is how all the young lads dress these days. [did he just say the word lad. yes he did. pretend it didn't happen she might not point it out.]

[recurred]

[scrunches nose. she's not gonna let it go]

I didn't know it was 1903. I should stop showing so much ankle.

[crossmyhearts]

I am most definitely sure this is not how people dressed in 1903.

[points down at his own feet, please to notice his pants are rolled up and shorter] See if it weren't for my boots I'd be showing ankle too!

[recurred]

Whatever you say, gramps.

[taps the interface lightly]

Pull the lever?

[crossmyhearts]

[rests hand on lever]

[squinting his eyes at her]

Not until you apologize. And tell me I'm handsome and fashionable.

[recurred]

Can't take a little criticism? I'm sorry.

[but she's not saying the other stuff]

[a moment of silence. yes he is waiting for her to say the other stuff]

Right then! On we go. [hits some buttons and pulls the lever] Next stop: Mars!

[recurred]

[that was sad, it really was]

[sits back and watches him enthusiastically pull levers and push buttons]

[skips back some to go try and peek out the front window, even though she's too short]

That should be it then, yeah?

[crossmyhearts]

That is it! Now wait here. [making his way down the control panel and towards one of the hallways]

Oh, and you can open the doors, just... don't step outside. Obviously. [because they're floating in space right now]

Anyway, back in a moment! [and off he goes]
