He made it clear in our discussion that he simply desired your happiness above all else. And, as long as I was part of that, he was supportive and appreciative.

I do not believe the threat was to be taken seriously. Simply a reminder that there were more people around that love you and they would be displeased to find the trust you put in me misplaced.
