It is important to him, yes, but not as important as having her in his life. He just thinks it's the kind of thing one should know when they talk about this kind of commitment - and honestly, he thinks he should have mentioned it already, he just didn't want to make things sound any more serious than they were.

But he's glad he's told her now. Just like he's glad to know exactly how serious she wants it to be. Even if it scares him, admittedly.

He should have expected her to get on one knee after that, but it still surprises him, and he grins bashfully as he looks down at her. Part of him can't help find the situation a little funny, her wrapped up in that towel and him in his robe, but mostly? It's sweet, and it's wonderful.

"I would. Yes."

Part of her finds the situation kind of hilarious actually, but the other part is irrationally terrified that he is going to say no so it's all kind of an emotional jumble.

"Oh thank god, I think I was about to give myself a heart attack down here."

She gets back on her feet so that she can wrap her arms around his neck and kiss him.

"Thank you."

His joking alone should have made it clear he wasn't going to say no, and his initial reaction clearly had nothing to do with him not wanting to marry her. Fair enough, this is all still new and scary, and certainly not something Bruce thought he'd ever get to have in his life anymore, but it's definitely something he wants, very much so.

He wraps his arms around her, still smiling as he presses his lips to hers.

"You know, I wouldn't get you on your knees just to say no."

"I know, but for some reason that was still terrifying."

She knows Bruce would never, ever do something like that to her but there was still a weird element of feeling like she had just placed her heart under his foot and he juuuust might step on it.

"You try it and see if you don't feel a weird flutter of nerves."

Well, he can't argue with that. Some things can be pretty terrifying, even when one's sure that the end result won't be a bad one.

"You want me to go down on one knee too?"

"Only if you want the experience of proposing to someone because let me tell you, you won't get another shot."

She's keeping him.

He purses his lips and shrugs.

"No, I'm good. I liked how you did it. Towel look, using my full name and all. Even the word 'hubby'."

Which really sounded very silly, for the record.

She knows it did, that was kind of the point. She'll save the serious for her wedding vows.

"I was planning on responding by dropping the towel so, your loss."

"I'm sure I can still talk you out of that towel anyway."

Or even just tug it off. Seriously it's right there, all he needs to do is reach for it.

"Maybe. And when I say maybe I mean absolutely."

There is absolutely no reason to deny that whatsoever.

He tips his head down to kiss her again, slowly, his hands cupping her face, then sliding down her neck and front, reaching her towel.

"I mean, it's pretty warm in here now. You could just... walk around naked. I wouldn't mind."

She pictures it, wandering around naked and available for whenever the mood might strike him to touch her, kiss her, make her come. It is some very compelling mental imagery.

"What if I did?"

The thought crosses his mind - all those thoughts, actually, that alone enough to dry his throat a little. He licks his lips, tugging lightly at the fabric where it holds up just over her chest.

"Well, I'd enjoy the view, for one."

He's really not giving himself the break he should here. But honestly he doesn't care.

They just agreed to get married and he's figured out that he can orgasm without turning big and green, it's understandable if he's not feeling at his most cautious at the moment.

She leans close to him, lips brushing lightly against his but it's not really a kiss, though he can probably feel the touch of her tongue when she too needs to wet her lips.

"That's good."

She loves being watched by him, he knows that.

True, but still, he doesn't want to get a little too excited and end up doing more than he should. Knowing how much he can do now, the last thing he wants is to get in over his head, relinquish too much of his control and ruin their vacation here.

He gasps softly when he feels her tongue, his lips chasing after hers briefly. Finally he peels off her towel, each hand holding a side of it, slowly pulling them apart to expose her body to him.

"It's a pretty wonderful sight."

She is definitely on board that particular caution train, even if it's really hard to be thinking about it this particular moment.

"So are you."

Said as she tugs a little at the strap holding his robe together.

Thinking at all is a very difficult thing at the moment, though he finds he doesn't care much at all. Must be the whole not thinking thing, preventing him from worrying much about anything at all right now.

"You know I'm all for a level playing field."

Although he'll have a harder time (literally) when he gets aroused, but it's just the two of them here, so he really doesn't mind. He doubts that she will, either.

He lets her towel drop to the floor unceremoniously, his hands sliding down her sides and settling on her hips.

Would she mind seeing her future walking around with a hard-on for her? No, no she wouldn't. Not one bit.

She opens his robe up so that she can run her hands over his chest, the feeling familiar but always amazing.

"I wouldn't marry a man who doesn't believe in equality."

He knows she wouldn't mind, of course. But it might look a little silly, him walking around like that, not to mention uncomfortable. Though he has a feeling she'll be all too happy to take care of that for him.

He hums pleasantly as her hands slide across his chest, his head tipping so he can brush his lips over hers.

"Good thing that I do, then."

She will forever be beyond enthusiastic about helping him out with situations like that.

She doesn't respond with words to what he says, instead chasing after his lips instead to capture them with her own, giving him a long, slow kiss, her tongue gently caressing his while her fingertips dig into his skin just a little, the pleasure of kissing him making both her toes and fingers curl.

He returns the kiss thoughtlessly, lips parting to deepen the contact when he feels her tongue drawing along them. His hands slide up her front, tracing the curves of her breasts, finally cupping her neck gently as he enjoys the slow but deep, lingering kiss.

She breaks the kiss only when the need for air becomes too great, looking at him with a somewhat dazed expression on her face.

"I can't get enough of you."

His hands round her shoulders when she breaks the kiss, sliding down her back slowly as he looks back at her with a soft smile.

"You can have as much of me as you want, anytime."

"I know. That's the best part."

He's hers and she is his and it's not restrictive or even possessive. It's just an endless cycle of giving, wholeheartedly and with endless love.

"It really is."

He smiled, planting a kiss to her lips, then a trail of them across her cheek, on her nose, up to her forehead. His hands settled at the small of her back, arms rounding her figure more properly as he pulled her closer in an embrace.
