"It was pretty frustrating for me as well."

Not to the same degree as him of course, but there had been moments when her need to give him what he was giving her had driven her half mad.

"Sorry. I tried not to make it so."

But he understands that it must have been, for all the pleasure he might have offered her. It's different, being able to share in that pleasure to its full extent.

"No, don't you dare apologise."

She rolls up on top of him to cradle his face in her hands and gives him a long, thorough kiss.

"You've always been amazing."

[hyperkinesia]

He's smiling by the time she pulls away from the kiss, his hand moving up her back until his fingers can sift through her hair.

"So have you."

More than he can even put into words.

"Loving and patient. I'm so lucky you're in my life, Trish."

And that's not something he ever thought he'd say about himself again - that he's lucky.

"New Year's magic."

Said with a grin before she nips a little at his lower lip with her teeth.

It seems like a lifetime ago, that night at the party when she met this cute, dorky nerd and thought hey, he's pretty damn attractive, actually.

Knowing Bruce the way she does now, she actually thinks it even more of a wonder that he decided to kiss her than she did back then.

"Must've been."

It was a wonder to him too then - it still is now, even -, but considering where it got them, he doesn't really spend too much time puzzling over how he so uncharacteristically decided to kiss a complete stranger in the middle of a party.

He'd have said Tony added just a quick shot to one of his drinks to loosen him up, but he knows his friend well enough to know he wouldn't do that to Bruce of all people without telling him.

"My heart must have wished really hard and I didn't even know it."

"That is without a doubt the cheesiest thing you have ever said to me."

Not that she doesn't feel a bit like that too.

She never even knew how much she needed someone like Bruce in her life, but she has changed and grown in ways she could never have expected, and she does feel like loving Bruce is making her be the best version of herself.

[hyperkinesia]

"That's a pretty tall claim, considering how cheesy I've been in the past. As pointed out by you."

He says it rather pointedly, poking at her nose before his fingers tuck her hair behind her ear, then pinch lightly at the shell.

He does mean it, though, and he's immensely grateful for it, now. It might have brought him worries, doubts, pain and loneliness when he ran away too, but he hasn't been this happy in so long— happier than he ever thought he'd get to be again.

She wrinkles her nose a bit when he pokes it, grinning down at him.

"I keep track of your cheese levels, so it's a very well founded claim."

[hyperkinesia]

His smile stretches a little, one of his legs folding so he can nudge at hers lightly with his foot.

"Alright, then. I'll take it as a sign that I'm getting better at it."

Or worse, depending on the perspective.

"Your skills are growing, soon you'll conquer the world."

She laughs a little and drops her head to hide her face against his neck, taking a deep breath of his scent.

"We're being gross."

[hyperkinesia]

"Just as planned."

Not really, not at all. If anything it reminds him a little too much of unpleasant memories, ones he'd rather not relive right now.

And he's glad that Trish is here. Right now, like always, she keeps those thoughts and feelings at bay, filling him only with a sense of peace and unadulterated joy.

"Maybe. But I like it, being gross with you."

"It's definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. Shameless romantic gooeyness that would make Jessica puke."

He is so warm and lovely to lay on, how is she supposed to ever move again?

[hyperkinesia]

"Luckily Jessica doesn't need to see any of it, she can be spared all the disgusting romance. Well..."

He pauses, lifting a shoulder as he goes on. "Not always. I'm not going to keep it all to myself on our wedding day."

The mere thought makes him feel all fluttery on the inside yet again, as if it dawns on him once more that that's really happening.

"I demand a thoroughly disgusting wedding day."

Trish is very likely to go full bridezilla, whith her need for control and somewhat extravagant tastes.

[hyperkinesia]

"You can have as disgusting a wedding day as you want."

And Bruce will just let her take over the whole thing, instead just focusing on actually getting a new quality suit. Though he will offer his input when asked - he doesn't want her thinking he's not interested, after all.

"With... lots of flowers and romantic music, plus little cupids and heart confetti decorating the tables."

[notpatsy]

That makes her laugh, because the mental image is so ridiculous.

"I want it to be beautiful, not kitchy."

She sits up, stradling him while she runs her hands over his chest.

"Oh my god, you are going to look so good."

Bruce in a brand new suit? Yes please.

[hyperkinesia]

"You better keep an eye on Tony, then. Just saying. Or before you know it we'll have a giant heart-shaped banner with a picture of us framed in pink flowers that dispense glitter while playing 'I got you babe'."

Exaggerating to make a point here - probably. He's grinning, though, hands settling over hers as they slide across his chest.

"Whatever I wear will pale in comparison to you."

[notpatsy]

"If Tony ruins my wedding he is a dead man."

Not that anything Tony did could ever truly ruin the day when she and Bruce proclaim to the world that they intend to be together for the rest of their lives.

[hyperkinesia]

"I'll gladly kick him out myself if he pulls a tacky stunt like that."

Bruce knows he won't, though. He might arrange for some cute little prank during their honeymoon, or when they come back home afterwards, but not during their wedding day. If nothing else because Pepper would be on him, making sure he wouldn't push a joke a little too far.

[notpatsy]

"Let's hope Pepper keeps him in line. Wouldn't want to lose your best man."

And she is pretty sure that Tony is the only person who would be considered for that particular position.

Which leads to another pretty hilarious thought.

"Oh god. Jess."

Obviously Jessica will be the maid of honour but... the thought is pretty funny. For obvious reasons.

Though actually, Trish would like to think that Jessica would pull it together and play nice for one measly day if it meant not ruining her sister's wedding.

[hyperkinesia]

"I'm sure she will. She knows better than anyone how Tony is."

She'll probably be three steps ahead of him as far as pranks and surprises to the happy couple will go. Nothing will make it past without Pepper's approval, and that does comfort Bruce a lot.

His eyebrows knit together, smiling curiously.

"What about Jess?"

[notpatsy]

"What about Jess who drinks too much and has absolutely no people skills?"

Yeah, what could possibly go wrong with that at a wedding.

[hyperkinesia]

"Well... for one, you can start mentally preparing her for the fact that there probably won't be a lot of alcohol at this particular wedding."

Whatever there is will probably be brought in by Tony, since neither Bruce nor Trish appreciate alcoholic drinks. Of course there still should be some for other people who might want to drink, but not a whole lot.

"She'll bring her own."

That is something that can be counted on.

"And no matter what, we'll have a great wedding day."
