Well, not as easily, especially with how much he'd had to drink before, but still. For now, though, he was all too happy to lie in her arms, curled in close to her warmth, closing his eyes and relaxing against her as she tucked the blanket up to cover them both. "Love you too, Mary."

"But you'd rather sleep?" Mary tsked at him, but she was teasing of course. Honestly, she was tired too after what they had been through that night. At least at the end of it, they had confirmed that they only wanted to be with each other, regardless of the risks.

Mary was living in the moment, and at the moment, she was the happiest she had ever been. She laid her head on his chest and closed her eyes.
