When he pulls into the huge circular drive in front of Athos' huge, ridiculous mansion, he can see Porthos' equally ridiculous bike already parked and ready, which means he's the last to arrive. He doesn't care, he likes to make an entrance, and arriving last is the easiest way to do that.
He's been to Athos' ridiculous mansion a few times already, for precinct parties and the like, and he's learned not to question him about it. The one time he did, his already reticent friend got even quieter, and had a haunted look in his eyes as he told him that his deceased wife had wanted a big house, and he just hadn't the heart to sell it and move to someplace smaller.
