[Chuck smiles and shakes his head. He figured Mike wasn't thinking about anything. He knew that, while he himself was capable of perfect stillness while his brain kept a fast gear, constantly going into overdrive, Mike, who was never keen on overthinking (or sometimes thinking at all), compensated by running around restlessly, squirming and fidgeting in his seat even when he's trying to be still.]

No, it's okay. Just wondered if there was anything. [It didn't bother him that much. He was used to it by now anyway.]

[livefaster]

[Mike grins.] So maybe there's something on my mind.

[He shifts, and this time he does move with the intention to move, previously coiled energy being unleashed. Wiggling his shoulder so he can get lower, at better eye level with Chuck.]

Roth's birthday will be next week. I have no idea what we could get him.

[dieharder]

It is? [He looks genuinely surprised. Not that Mike wanted to get a gift to a bot - they'd established a long time ago that Roth was so much more than a bot. He's surprised that he didn't remember that, though to be honest Chuck has a hard time keeping track of important dates, or days even.]

Man, I totally forgot about that. We should ask Dutch...? He probably has some ideas. [He feels a little bad for not knowing what Roth even likes besides being with them and helping them out.]

I'm pretty sure he'll have some. Maybe we can chip in? [He shrugs. Roth has been a very good and useful friend for them. The idea had been Texas', surprisingly enough - when he had figured that Roth, in fact, did not have a birthday, he called a reunion just to remedy that. It had been funny, really, especially after the Rodeo ordeal, but if anything, it showed that Texas learned from his mistakes.]

I'm pretty sure he'll just be happy if we show him it's a special day.

[dieharder]

Sounds good. Wish we could get him a cake too, that'd be awesome.

[Chuck shrugs and adds jokingly.] We could always build him a lady friend or something.

[Honestly, as long as the choice isn't up to Texas, he's fine with whatever. He'd probably want to do something crazy like add guns and lasers to the arms and the armor. Lord knows the disaster waiting to happen that would be.]

[livefaster]

Just to blow the candles?

[Now here's something that gets his curiosity. He grins. ] What, hey, Chuckles, I didn't know there was a matchmaker in you.

[dieharder]

And then we can eat it.

[He snorts and laughs, poking at Mike's back with the hand that rests over him.] I was joking... obviously!

[livefaster]

[He laughs at the comment and is about to reply about maybe giving him a can of oil so that poor Roth has something to "eat" as well, but he jerks a little forward, eyes widening.]

Well, I don't know, Chuckles, you can be quite the lovebird. [Here's poking at your stomach, kid.]

[dieharder]

Who, m-me? [He squirms a little, and places a protective hand over his stomach, where Mike poked him, still grinning.] You gotta be confusing me with somebody else, bro.

[livefaster]

[And pokes him right next to his hand, on his side.] Nope. Pretty sure you are, dude.

[dieharder]

[Chuck giggles and tries to grab Mike's hand, his knees jerking as he curls up a bit.]

Stop that, Mikey!

grins


very slowly.]

[dieharder]

Oh... no. No. Mike, no.

[He's holding both his hands up in front of him right now. Also, it sounds much like he's talking to a puppy - Mikey, sit. Mikey, don't. Bad puppy, Mikey.

Don't you even dare, Mikey.]

[livefaster]

[He hunches just a little, the grin dying down, looking at him through his bangs for a few seconds.

It was the mere quiet before the storm.

Because right after total stillness, Mike's mouth draws the biggest smile while lunging for Chuck, all limbs and wide hands, tickling at random, almost rolling them in the already small bed.]

[dieharder]

[Somehow, Chuck lets out a whine, a snort and a laughter all at the same time, whole body jerking and trying to wiggle away from Mike's reach. He's trying to grab Mike's wrists, but he's far too lost, and eventually he can't even tell where Mike's hands are touching anymore.

There's a gasp and a giggle as he tries to speak - barely manages.] S-stop!!

[Mike manages to sneak his arms around Chuck just enough to dig his thumbs and wriggle them against two spots on his back, just under his ribs - kidney points that didn't need jabbing, only pressure, to make the nerves go "OHNONONONOTOOMUCHTICKLING"] So you were saying?

[dieharder]

[Chuck shrieks, and he basically throws himself forward, pressing against Mike as his hands cling to Mike's upper arms.

He's not aware of a lot of things right now. He's especially not aware of a particular part of him poking against Mike's leg. Well, whoops.] I said s- oh, stop it, M-Mikey--!

[livefaster]

[Mike's not really aware of it, either, yet, even if he's a little surprised at the quick move forward and having his friend pressed close to him as if his own thumbs were hot pokers.

He lightens the pressure a little, shaking his head.] Nope. Before that.

[dieharder]

[Chuck takes that as a break to catch his breath, but doesn't really lighten his grip on Mike's arms. He clears his throat and glances at his friend, a little puzzled.] I was saying... 'no'?

[livefaster]

[And he presses again, only not so hard this time.] You should be saying "Yes, Mike, I do have a romantic streak and I am not afraid to admit it because it's nothing to be ashamed about, especially to my best friend".

[dieharder]

[He whines, shifts again, and bites his lip lightly before replying.] That's too long. What about "Okay, fine, Mike, you're right."

[He purses his lips in thought before adding.] "This time".

[livefaster]

[He lets go of Chuck's pressure points, nodding. Yes, because he does admit he's not right sometimes, even if he does believe so at the time.] That seems good by me.

[dieharder]

[There's a deep sigh, and his muscles relax visibly as Mike relieves the pressure. He lets go of Mike's arms and tries to move so that they're not so close anymore - now there's no more reason for them to be that near after all.] It's not like you won anything with this, you know.

[livefaster]

Yes, I di...d. [Chuck's body moves away from him by shifting his torso first, making the angle of his hips change. It makes his hand wrap a little tighter around Chuck's side.

He recognizes from really old days, in practice, when someone kept something in their pockets. It could be a weapon, a knife, a retractable stick. In this context, though, he frowns, a little amused. Well, they had been doing changes and used a lot of tools the night before.] Chuck, did you actually bring a wrench to sleep?

[dieharder]

Hm? [Chuck looks at Mike, arched eyebrow poking from between his bangs.] No, what--

[Then he glances down between the both of them. He doesn't say anything, or do anything for that matter. In fact, the only thing he does, as his whole body freezes in place, is turn a deep shade of crimson. Eventually, he cringes a little and tilts his head down in an effort to hide his eyes behind his bangs.] I... oh.
