When Jim intervened, the other man pulled Mary away, brandishing a knife as he held her to his chest. To her credit, she didn't scream, though her eyes were wide with terror. This particular man was disgusting and stank of rum and sweat. Being that close to him was repulsive.
"I'm taking this one," the pirate said. "You'll just have to find you another, unless you'd like for me to wreck that pretty face of yours."
