Chances were Jim wouldn't worry about the complications of her staying with him until they got closer to Nassau. It wasn't that he didn't worry at all about it, just that he didn't really tend to think about problems until they became real and all too tangible to him.

For now, having her close, touching her, kissing her, that was all he could ask for and it was what he got. She was light in his arms and he carried her with ease, kissing her lips as he laid her down in bed, then put on a pair of pants and some crumpled shirt so he could step outside and fetch them some warm water.

It took quite a bit of it to fill up the bath he had in his room, so he had to carry the hot water by the bucket, finally opening the door and carrying them two by two into the cabin. Once they were all inside he closed the door, then took them over to the bath and started filling it up.
