Deserving and wanting are two very different things. Chances are he will always feel like he doesn't completely deserve what Trish gives him, be it love, time, physical affection or a number of other things, but he wants it all anyway. God, he wants it like he doesn't remember ever wanting something in his life.

He wants her, more than anything. More than anyone.

"And I want you to be happy. I want... to be the one to make you happy."

That's a change - that's the change. Because he always wanted those he loved to be happy, he just believed they would be happier without having him around. But now he starts to believe that he can actually be a part of that happiness, or even the source of it.
